IAQ Inc. Indoor Air Quality Solutions

Services

The cost to investigate and repair indoor air quality problems can be significant. IAQ, Inc. provides full cost estimates and documented protocols to carefully explain the scope of work and all associated costs. Our services are provided by industry experts who work closely with you to correct your problems quickly and efficiently. Our range of services includes:

Toxic Mold Remediation

One of the most predominant causes of environmental health related problems is toxic mold. The scientific community has now found strong ties between toxic mold and illnesses ranging from asthma, to headaches to cancer. Thus, building owners, facility managers and homeowners will continue to be confronted with the challenges of how to deal with this growing problem. Unfortunately, investigating and determining the cause and sources of this problem can be a complex undertaking.

I.A.Q., Inc. provides expertise in confirming the presence of toxic molds and providing cost effective abatement services. We have over twelve years of experience with air quality and remediation for homes and businesses.

There are several risks associated with mold remediation projects:

  • Cross contamination due to improper containment of contaminated areas
  • Occupant exposure
  • Technician exposure
  • Unsuccessful results from inappropriate procedures

Our equipment utilizes cutting-edge technology and our AmIAQ Council and NADCA certified staff is trained and experienced in containment procedures, remediation protocols and the protection of employees and the building's occupants. Maintaining the highest standards, our procedures and specifications are appropriately tailored to each particular situation.

Indoor Air Quality Investigation, Testing and Analysis

Every year, poor indoor air quality costs businesses more than $1 billion in medical costs and $60 billion in employee sick leave and lost production. Employees, advocacy groups and tenants are becoming more educated about the long-term effects of the indoor environment on their health. Litigation costs are also on the rise as many companies are facing substantial awards, fines and settlements stemming from indoor air quality lawsuits.

Investigating and determining the cause and sources of an indoor air quality problem can be a complex undertaking. Our staff will thoroughly inspect all potential sources of pollution in your business, workplace or home. Areas we inspect can include:

  • Pollutant pathways through which contaminated air enters your building
  • Air intakes
  • Air filtration systems
  • Duct work
  • Ceiling plenums
  • Air Handling Units
  • Crawl spaces and surfaces

Testing can also be provided to determine the source and type of pollution such as: microbial, particulate or VOC contamination that can degrade the air quality in your building. Tests include some or all of the following; temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, air-flow, pressure differentials, surface wipes, bulk sampling tape lift, air sampling, dust mites and dander. Upon completion of our investigation and analysis of our testing, a full report is submitted with our findings and proposed solutions.

Once your indoor air quality problem has been resolved, I.A.Q., Inc. will provide you with a pro-active inspection program to monitor and maintain good indoor air quality. This program will provide you with an on going evaluation of the indoor environment and evidence of due diligence to greatly reduce any future recurrence of problems and the potential resulting liability.

Air Quality Restoration

Elevated levels of airborne fungal spores and other pollutants are often found in buildings and homes affected by mold. These elevated, airborne levels are a concern because they may be inhaled into the respiratory system by the occupants. In addition, the nature of the abatement process is likely to further increase these levels. In order to control and reduce the airborne fungal spores and other pollutants, the use of air quality restoration techniques must be employed. Methods usually include environmental controls, such as HEPA filtered Micro-Traps, Negative Air Machines, manipulation of Pressure Differentials and Air Washing.

HVAC/Air Duct Cleaning

Air duct cleaning and mechanical hygiene services have been the backbone of our indoor air quality solutions for many years.

I.A.Q., Inc. has forged a solid reputation from New York to Florida. From our local residential customers to large commercial and industrial buildings, our staff has the know-how and experience to tackle the job.

The mechanical systems of a building must function along with the other building components as a synchronized unit and the HVAC system plays a fundamental role. A well-designed system that is properly maintained and cleaned regularly is the key to occupant comfort and acceptable indoor air quality.

Our service goes beyond standard industry practices and our technicians are trained to do more than just clean the ventilation system. Our technicians understand how the HVAC system operates and how it impacts the indoor air quality of the building. Often, we bring to the attention of building management or the homeowner deficiencies and needed repairs that might ordinarily remain unseen.

Our services also include the cleaning of dryer exhaust, bathroom, and exhaust systems ranging from large condominium and apartment complexes to motels and hotels to single family residences. I.A.Q., Inc. can help bring your facility back up to standards for improved efficiency and energy savings. If dryer exhausts are your concern, our service can improve the system's performance and decrease the potential fire hazard of an improperly exhausting system.

Moisture Damage and Control

The key to controlling Mold and most other microbial problems is to control moisture. Virtually all mold issues that occur indoors can be related to a moisture or water intrusion problem. The Moisture/Water problem can be from a one time event (pipe burst, sink overflow, damaged roof) or the result of a chronic problem (rising dampness in the foundation, excessive humidity, hidden leaks, etc). Mold does not grow in the air; it grows on a surface. If the surface, or substrate, has elevated moisture content, it can support Mold growth. It is most important to identify and fix Moisture/Water problems to prevent the re-occurrence of mold.
